Kevin Kostyn and Scott Steiner have been friends since they were college students at Rutgers University. For years, they followed their own legal paths. Kevin worked at large firms and was a managing partner at Breed Abbott & Morgan. Scott grew in sophisticated small and medium size firms. After collaborating on a number of cases, they formed Steiner & Kostyn LLP in 2005. Kevin brings his singular focus to complex and hard fought litigation matters. Scott brings a diverse skill that fosters his ability to vigorously represent, and provide sagacious counsel to his clients. Kevin and Scott's experience, skills, interests, and friendship all contribute to a firm where every client can expect to be advised and serviced with skill and integrity. Kevin Kostyn
Kevin is an experienced and fearless commercial litigator who places the interests of his clients first. He has extensive trial, deposition, document management and motion practice experience in the federal and state courts of New York and New Jersey; represents business clients in connection with contested commercial foreclosures, breach of contract, fraud and business tort litigations, trademark litigation, social media and internet licenses and promotions agreements, white collar criminal investigations and prosecutions, insurance defense, and labor and employment disputes.
Kevin formerly was a partner at two-hundred and fifty attorney New York law firm specializing in commercial litigation; superior management, communication and leadership skills and was selected by the firm's Executive Committee for assignment as Managing Partner of the Firm’s Newark, New Jersey satellite office.
Kevin is known for his extremely thorough and competent representation in state and federal courts. He has a track record of excellent results and personal attention to client matters from initiation of actions to final judgment. He is known for his excellent writing, research, analytic, oral argument and inter-personal skills. Kevin provides cost effective representation of the highest order.

Scott J. Steiner
Scott has broad experience in the areas of commercial, employment and real estate litigation, and has practiced before federal and state trial and appellate level courts. For his business clients, Scott has litigated breach of contract, business tort, trademark, real estate, foreclosure, fraud, confidentiality and non-compete and breach of fiduciary duty matters. He also focuses on the areas of wage and hour and employment discrimination and employment contract litigation. Scott also acts as "in-house" counsel for emerging businesses. He represents executives who have been separated from their employment and helps them to obtain the most favorable separation package. In cases where an employee's rights have been violated, Scott will litigate to vindicate their rights. He also represents clients in transactional matters, including the purchase and sale of businesses and commercial and residential real estate. His broad knowledge of New York law, can help him identify and address the legal issues facing his clients. Scott provides high-quality, cost-effective legal services.

Notable matters have included successfully representing the estate of the founder of CBGB nightclub in litigation over trademark ownership; sale of the CBGB Assets; obtaining $192 million judgment for international bank in fraud action against former General Manager; litigating issues involving alleged breaches of letters of intent, term sheets and other loan documents in connection with development sites in Greenwich Village, N.Y.; representing landowner in litigation involving waterfront development site in Hallets Point, Queens and application of the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP); obtaining an over $900,000 settlement in a Title VII race discrimination matter; and acting as counsel to senior executives of defense contractor in federal action alleging breach of Stock Incentive Plan and failure to pay benefits
